Residency period: 6/5/26 - 3/6/26
My artistic practice aims to challenge systemic barriers, whether geographical, cultural, or institutional, that prevent people like me from fully accessing and participating in art spaces. I have experienced firsthand how race, gender, and class can limit freedom within these environments, which is why my work seeks to reimagine belonging and envision a world where our differences are celebrated as strengths, not limitations. Working across visual arts, film, curation, and writing, I strive to amplify the voices of marginalised communities, particularly those from diasporic, Black, and Muslim communities.
In the end, my work is about creating spaces that foster inclusion, accessibility, and as well a sanctuary for those whose voices have been historically silenced. My art becomes a dialogue between personal and collective histories, inviting reflection on the intersections of belonging, migration, and selfhood.
