SUMMARY OF FACILITY HIRE RATES
A. SUBSIDISED ARTISTS RATES
These rates are for individual artists to develop their own creative, artistic and professional practice and who are working without funding. Subsidised rates are supported by the Arts Council.
1. WORKSHOP BAYS – workbenches & basic energy only from €10 per day.
2. PRIVATE STUDIOS – from €20 per day.
3. TECHNICAL WORKSHOP ACCESS - from €20 per day.
4. ACCOMMODATION:
- Private Rooms - €30 per night
- Private Room with access to one specified technical area - €125 a week; €500 a month.
- Self-Contained Residency Studios - €150 a week; €600 a month.
- Self-Contained Residency Studios with access to all technical facilities - €200 a week; €800 a month.
B. FUNDED ARTISTS RATES
FUNDED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT RESIDENCIES
PDR’s provide a practical research and development residential base for artists working in all media who need time out to investigate a specific idea and/or explore a technical or material process, of their choosing, in order to advance their practice. Artists on PDR’s typically build-in technical training into their residencies availing of the Centre’s experienced technicians to do this – see technical costs below. PDR’s come without the requirement of an exhibition or any specific outcome at the end, apart from a short progress report to LSC. Previously, artists have received funding from their local County Councils or schemes such as the AC Agility or Bursary Awards, to take up PDR’s. For artists without funding, we offer a subsidised charge rate – please contact us for details. Our residential facilities are available to all artists working in any creative process who need space and time to further their practice.
1. FACILITIES
Accommodation
- Private Rooms - €125 per week; €500 per month
- Private Room with access to all technical facilities - €175 a week; €700 a month
- Private Room, separate studio with access to all technical facilities - €225 a week; €900 a month
- Self-Contained Residency Studio Apartment - €250 per week; €1,000 a month.
- Self-Contained Residency Studio with access to all technical facilities - €300 a week; €1,200 a month.
Access to wifi, communal kitchen, lounge, washing machine & bathrooms.
Prices exclude materials, energy for large equipment such as kilns etc and technical support costs. Basic energy use is included. Access is 6am – 10pm Mon-Sun.
Residential Studios
You will be provided, subject to availability, with either:
Residency Studio No: 1 has a private double bedroom with large studio in the next-door room with shared kitchen and bathrooms.
Residency Studio No. 2 or No. 3: Each have a private double bedroom, separate studio area with kitchenette and own shower room (Apt 3 ) or shared bathroom (Apt 2).
All Residency studios have access to wifi, communal kitchen, lounge, washing machine & bathrooms.
Technical Facilities – You will have access to space only in the Stone & Large Fabrication area; Ceramics; Woodwork; Mouldmaking; Metalwork and Foundry; Traditional Print; Video Editing; Analogue Photographic Darkroom and Digital Design, and some standard equipment is provided in each area. Prices exclude materials, energy for large equipment such as kilns etc and technical support costs. There is an additional charge for hot processes. Generally, artists will bring their own hand and power tools. Basic energy use is included. Access is 6am – 10pm Mon-Sun.
