The work displays the processes being explored in the ongoing collaboration between children in fifth class at St. Clare’s Primary School and Glasgow-based artist Jen Bradley, who was a resident artist within the school.

Challenging their own idea of drawing, the children explored different ways to record what they see, what they remember and what they imagine.

The children had the opportunity to utilise the full gallery space at Leitrim Sculpture Centre as part of the project. With the space to play with scale, the class created their own drawing tools using charcoal and sticks collected locally. The children painted on large sheets of paper and, inspired by Henri Matisse’s Cut-Outs, drew with scissors.

The project was jointly funded by Leitrim County Council.
