Drawing is the basis of all my work.It is essential for finding, recording and working out ideas, discovering a subject in an almost tactile sense, as a means of reflection, experimentation and expression. I am currently developing new work in drawing and bronze sculpture. I’m motivated by curiosity and a carnivalesque sense of the world. That childhood feeling for the mysterious and imaginative possibilities of the mundane and commonplace, full of potential for transformation. My practice over the years has involved a variety of disciplines, including performance, set and costume design, digital media, film, animation. The breadth of these experiences and skills underpin the range of my practice and ambitions.Janet Mullarney's hybrid figures and her range of disciplines have informed some of my recent ideas. As has Kiki Smith’s sense of the body in relation to nature and mythology. At LSC I’m working on maquettes and mould making, for large scale sculptures.
