I am looking to challenge the boundaries between Architecture, sculpture and design. Born in Northern Ireland and trained in Design at the Royal College of Art, I broke early on from the traditional pathway of creating functional objects. I was intrigued instead to develop artwork that uses the vocabulary and operational effects of architecture and design. Because of the nature of these interventions, I have incorporated sculpture, drawing, photography and multimedia as a means to document my practice. The major aim of each work is to either replicate something of a particular space that is unseen, or propose something that might take place at a particular site in the future as a way to promote critical debate. At the core, I am making work to locate myself – to understand the space around me.
