Most of my work is commissioned and site specific with close community engagement. I work in Prisons, with Carers Groups, Tidy Towns, Local Art Centres and Schools. I am a community activist. My art practice is always about people and how I can encourage creativity and active engagement within whichever group I work with, where the underlying ambition for the work is to engage with people, and the relationship between the artist, the group and the artwork. My job is to make visible what it is to be human, by my engagement with the world and the broad practice of everyday life, where I place an emphasis on inter-human relations. My work is not exclusive to visual art, I work collaboratively with other art forms and practice - writers, actors, musicians, film makers, architects. My interest in art process encourages me to experiment with many disciplines including artisan metal workers, stone masons, glass makers, light engineers to continually develop my skills.

I have over thirty years experience as a professional artist and tutor. I have produced several large outdoor public works throughout Ireland as well as gallery exhibitions. I have been involved in organizing sculpture symposia, sculpture trails and parks and am co-founder of the Leitrim Sculpture Centre in Manorhamilton, Co. Leitrim. I deliver projects through short and longer term workshops, including working with schools, Irish Prison Service, and community groups. I have taught on Youth Reach programmes in Dublin, CE Schemes, in secondary schools and third level art colleges and I currently teach part-time courses at the Leitrim Sculpture Centre.
