10am to 4pm, Friday 27 to Sunday 29 September 2024
The workshop will cover basic theory and operation of four different types of welding machine/process: Arc (traditional), Arc (Inverter), MIG & TIG, when to use one type of welding process over another; essential health & safety principles. The workshop will cover designing and setting out for metal sculpture, how to design basic mechanical fixings; and cutting and joining techniques, safe use of hand power tools (angle grinders, drills etc) and larger equipment not commonly available in home studios (cut-off saw, offset rollers, Heavy-duty pillar drill, guillotine. Students should come with sturdy boots.

Noah Rose is a sculptor based in County Galway, Ireland. Through his training in 3-Dimensional design and subsequent 25-year career as a practising artist he has acquired a broad range of skills and experience across a diversity of traditional sculptural materials, including metal, wood, stone, glass and plastics.
